Fantastic commission news from Virgin Atlantic

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Good Morning

We are pleased to announce that we have brought our payment for global (non UK originated bookings) in line with our UK programme, meaning we will now pay the standard 2% commission of the GBP booking value on any booking in any territory, excluding the great introductory 3% commission for three months for all new affiliates.

This development is really important for us, as publishers can now be rewarded equally for all sales made in and outside of the UK. Bringing the remuneration process in line with our UK programme should make it easier for publishers to understand our programme and know exactly what they will be earning from the bookings they make. We are committed to our affiliate programme and to giving publishers great opportunities to maximise their earning potential and over the coming months we will be communicating more and more special offers from around the world.

The change came into play on 24 February so all transactions from this date will be paid for at the 2% rate, which is fantastic new for our publishers!

If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact me.

Updated AffiliateFuture Interface Now Live

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

We are really pleased to announce that the updates to version 2 of our interfaces went live today!

We are really excited about the improved functionality that it brings; Not only does it give affiliates more new features but it will also bring much improved performance and reliability due to some changes in the way in which the stats are generated.

Below is a summary of some of the changes that have been made:

Reports > Cancellation Report:

A new report that makes it easier to find the details of your cancelled sales; allowing reporting via date rangers and filtering per merchant.

Reports > Daily Merchant Stats:

This is one of my favourite new reports - it gives a daily breakdown per programme. Shows number of visitors, leads/sales, Sales value, Commission and EPC. Let’s select per programme via a date range (max 1 month at a time).

Reports > Tracking Reference Summary:

If you use tracking references, especially for PPC activity then this will give you a breakdown per order reference per programme on the Clicks, Leads/Sales, Commission, etc. This information is obviously still available per transaction under the Commission Analysis but now allows you to do quick summaries instead.

Reports > Export Reports:

Not really new functionality here but we’ve changed the way that the Export Reports work so it should be a lot faster and reliable than previously.

Programmes > Merchants Joined:

All the default links for programmes you are signed up to are now available on this screen - there is also quick links to Programme Details and Creative - this should make life a lot easier for affiliates who want to login quickly to grab their links.

We’re still working on a few other improvements but the new changes should make things a lot more stable and will lead to us turning off the old interfaces in the near future.

Obviously feedback is appreciated - please feel free to comment below or contact me directly.

Thanks

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

AffiliateFuture is pleased to announce a new Car Hire Search tool covering all of the major world-wide Airports and featuring leading suppliers such as Auto Europe, Ebookers & Skycars. Similar to our holiday search functionality we allow you the flexibility to display either a Car Hire search box or build customizable deep links:

Customisable search boxes

  • There are several search box size formats available, and each can be colour customised to fit in with your website design.
You can edit the descriptive text on certain search box sizes.
You can also allow the search box to default to a particular Airport

Customisable deeplinks

Send traffic directly to a results page based on specific criteria; choosing the pick-up destination, hire period, vehicle type and price range.

Dynamic results pages

  • Search results are displayed in a new window with a generic ‘carhiresearchresults.com’ url in colours that match your selection.
Results load individually, making filtering easy and quick to load. Results can be filtered down by key requirements to display concise requirements with up to date pricing pushing your site conversions even further.

Integrating a car hire search box into your website is easy, simply copy and paste the line of HTML code that is generated into your page.  To view and integrate this new search tool simply login to your account.

This new tool offers a unique opportunity to easily display some of the best converting offers in the market place and to drive up earnings per click on your site.

Happy promoting

IAB Voucher Code Guidelines Update

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Hi all,

As you will know, AffiliateFuture are signed up to the IAB Voucher Code Guidelines that came into effect on 1st January 2009.   Since the guidelines came into play the majority of affiliates have met these and taken them in the spirit that they were issued and only one affiliate has so far been temporarily removed from all the participating networks.

It has been necasary to make some clarifications on the guidelines - none of which should effect the Affiliates who are currently compliant.

Here are the ammended guidelines in full

The aim of the IAB’s affiliate marketing council code of best practice for voucher code sites is to ensure that traffic from affiliate sites sent to merchants is not done in a misleading or confusing way and that consumers receive a good user experience. To this end all of the undersigned networks are committed to enforcing the following guidelines:

1.       Affiliates must not use a mechanism whereby users are encouraged to click to interact with content where it is unclear or confusing what the outcome will be. For example:

i) Using “click to reveal code” and opening the site when no valid code is present or an offer/deal/sale is presented instead, without this being made clear before the click.

ii) Using “click to copy code” and opening the site when no valid code is available

iii) Opening the merchant’s site without making it clear that this will occur

2.       Voucher code affiliates must clearly detail the nature of the voucher or offer/deal/sale before a user clicks to interact with it (by revealing, copying, visiting the merchant site etc)

3.       A valid code is defined as a code that has been legitimately issued by a merchant for your use online. This code will have an activation date and, where provided, a deactivation date. When a code has expired it must either be removed or the fact that it has expired must be clearly stated in writing, not simply by listing the expiry date.

4.       Sites displaying voucher codes must contain clear categorization and separation between deals/offers/sales and voucher codes.

5.       Any affiliate judged by one of the participating networks to be contravening the code will be referred to the IAB’s Affiliate Marketing Council and all members will agree on a course of action. The discretion of the council will be used when determining what is judged as misleading or confusing and is not confined to the examples above.

If you have any questions about this please feel free to get in touch with us via emailing enquiries@affiliatefuture.co.uk
