Barbados Day 3 – Tally ho!

Well, we’ve all reached the third day of our trip in one piece…  just about!  Day 3 saw some of us getting a bit active, as we took a trip to the east side of the island for some equestrian adventures!

Some of the group were complete beginners and were understandably slightly apprehensive before the pick up at our hotel at the ungodly hour of 8am!  Our driver, however, quickly gave us something to be even more frightened of as he took us for a white knuckle ride across the island!  It was a 40 minute journey which saw us navigating bends at breakneck speeds so by the time we arrived at the equestrian centre climbing up on a horse was childsplay!

We had an amazing 2 hour ride over hills and along the surf and, although some of us were walking like cowboys afterwards, it was well worth it!

Last night saw us hit the Surfers’ Bar; a tiny bar located right on the beach in the middle of nowhere.  The owner put a BBQ on for us and we drank rum around a bonfire.  It was truly an experience not to be missed.  Most of us called it a night after the bar, with the exception of Mr. Little and a few others, so I’m sure there will be one or two sore heads this morning when they eventually surface!

Tonight we’ll be enjoying some special Bajan entertainment at our hotel, so we’ll be reporting on that tomorrow!
